LIFE UPDATE

It's been quite a while since I've posted last, I know.  It's been a whirl wind of travelling, mothering, designing, working on client projects, and gearing up for my new website/blog launch.

I've been busy visiting my family for the last few weeks while my husband is off on a tasking.  Oliver and I are on our last voyage to visit my siblings before we head back home.  I must admit I am a little excited to get back home and fall back into our routine.  Oliver has adjusted well with the travelling, but we have pretty much travelled with him from the get go, so he is pretty used to it by now.

If you want to follow Oliver and I's travel follow me on instagram.

I've been working a lot in our travels when Oliver is sleeping and hanging out with family.  It's nice to have a little more free time to get things done.  I've come up with some great new ideas for post series for the new blog.  I have also completely changed my mind with the layout of the new site so that puts me back a few days as well.

I've also gained some awesome new client projects while travelling and I currently only have one opening for August.

NEW LOOK!

I've just finished the new look of my brand and I must say I love it!  I have been working on this brand launch for months, and through much trial and error I think that I am extremely happy with the outcome so far.  I've never worked this long on building a brand before the official launch and it has been difficult for me to visualize what I wanted with all the beautiful inspiration out there!

I am still working very hard on the website, blog and store.  I hope to get everything up and running by the end of July, beginning of August.

I currently do not have any openings for new client projects until August 2014.  Please feel free to email me though, to book your spot in August.

THE WEEKLY

I'm really trying to be consistent with my blog posts while building my new website/blog, work on client projects, maintain this house, and care for Oliver.  Let me tell you, by 8:00pm I am ready for bed, but there is still so much to do! I cannot wait to launch my new website (along with the new blog) and fully start my new design journey!

Snapshots //  1.  Oliver had his first taste of avocado last Tuesday.  I'm not sure if he likes it.  Today he even turned up his nose.  2.  We went to the fair for Ryan's first Father's Day to eat some ribs and watch the motocross.  3.  Planted strawberries this week, and they gave us three juicy berries.  4.  Relaxing with a cold one on a hot day at it's finest.

Inspiring me: I'm really itching to get my new brand website and blog up and running!

MOODBOARD: HOLLY ANNE PHOTOGRAPHY

Alright, I'm totally loving this moodboard for Holly Anne Photography.  This moodboard takes me back to my teen years when all I wanted to do was be out and about trail riding or baling hay.  We really worked off of the bouquet in the bottom corner, and that lovely quarter horse. The colours are so calming but elegant at the same time.  I can just smell the lavender and the fresh summer breeze.  I cannot wait to continue working on this brand next week!

DIY: FLOWER POT FOOT PRINT ART

Yesterday I went out and gathered the supplies to make the very popular butterfly foot print art.  I've seen it all over Pinterest and decided to give it a try.  I bought some cute clay pots, acrylic paint from the dollar store and rushed home to start our first art project.

I don't think I need to do a step by step tutorial for this project, it's pretty straight forward.  Check out Pinterest if you do want to see a step by step process.

I do have a few tips though:

1. Don't gob the paint on baby's foot:  I learned this the hard way.  It's hard enough to get a nice foot print when baby is moving their toes around, squishing the paint between their toes.  Using just a thin layer on their foot decreases the chances of having their foot slip and getting a smudged print.

2. Use a Bumbo: This was great!  Oliver loves sitting in his bumbo so having his legs nice a still really helped with getting a nicer print.

This was our first attempt at ANY project/craft together, it may not be perfect but I absolutely love it! It adds a personal family touch to our home and I got to plant cute little flowers in them!

SUMMER BABY ESSENTIALS

This will be my very first summer with baby Oliver and I am super excited!  I remember thinking about taking him to the beach when he was only two months old and then a sudden wave of panic rolled over me.  Thoughts about a sunburned baby made my skin crawl.  I thought babies were so fragile back then, and any exposure to sun would fry their delicate skin.  I have convinced myself that taking Oliver out of the house will not hurt him I use the proper products to protect him.

We are just entering summer but I already notice myself going to many of the same products/items often.

ONE // Banana Boat Tear Free SPF 60 : I've been using this on Oliver so far and loved it.  Oliver has VERY sensitive skin and this product hasn't bothered his skin at all!  I have the 60, but all I can find online is 50 SPF.

TWO //  Johnson's Baby Powder :  I haven't used this for the purpose that I plan to this summer yet, but I know it will work just as good for removing sand from skin on Oliver as it did for me last year!

THREE //  Joe Fresh Sun Hat :  This hat is so cute and it protects his face and eyes from the sun! Love it!

FOUR .// ASOS Tote : You gotta pair your summer baby stuff with a new cute summer tote, right?!

FIVE // Carters Muslim Blankets : I must say I LOOOOVE these!  Multi purpose for sure!  I might dedicate an entire post just for muslim blankets!

SIX //  Beach Bum Bloomers : I bought these a while back in the winter when I got all excited about summer!  They are so cute and fit so snug over his diapers!
